This website is designed for English language teachers and educators who want to create accessible and inclusive language teaching experience.

It focuses on teaching English language learners (ELL) grammar structure incorporating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to support diverse learners.

Teaching English to speakers of there languages can be quite challenging considering that the language itself is the barrier to learning and communicating.

Empowering Teaching through inclusive education and accessibility

Universal Design for learning bridge barriers with flexible teaching  strategies and accessible educational resources designed to make learning equitable for all.

Why UDL Matters in Teaching English Language

Introducing a new grammatical structure while decoding s text in a second language may increase students' cognitive load.

Students with reading disabilities, including those whose disabilities are not visible, may find it challenging to process reading text and identify target grammatical structure.

UDL helps address these barriers by encouraging teachers to anticipate potential learning difficulty and provide multiple ways for students to access and understand information.

Technology, English Language Learners and UDL

Technology can help  address the barriers by introducing alternative ways of accessing information.  For example, a PowerPoint presentation with color coded words can make a  grammar structure more visible, while text to speech tools can support students who have reading difficulties.

Other digital platform can offer ELLs different ways to demonstrate their understanding using more than written language including visuals, videos and audio.
